The acceptance of emotions

Ha that sounds like a really "philosophical" or "emo" title for a blog :) But, I saw this article a friend of mine put up, and it seems kind of interesting...People really do get uncomfortable when others are sad, when really, we could accept it for a while and it'd be okay :)... You really need to read most of the article to "get it" all. I didn't quite get it at first, or agree with everything, but there are good points...Here's a couple lines I liked:

"To be human means to naturally react with feelings of sadness to negative events in one's life,"
"The normal range of human emotion is not being tolerated"

And in the end: "But maybe, just maybe, the single-minded pursuit of happiness as an end in itself, rather than as a consequence of a meaningful life, has finally run its course."
