A trip to the deli

So I just went to a deli with a friend for lunch.... And first of all, I held open the door for an older lady, and she thanked me for it - twice. First she said, "Thanks so much!" and then she said, after she'd walked through, "that is SO nice of you!!" (she was serious)... I thought... that is sad. That she thinks it's that big of a deal for someone to open the door for her. Because I know that's what that meant - younger people don't usually do polite things that way...we need to step it up people! :)

My other story you'll need a little backup information for. My friend Cassie and I decided to exchange our jewelry from ex-boyfriends (great idea, by the way, cuz now it gets worn instead of sitting, expensive as it is, in drawers).... so she sent me a ring (That I LOVE, it's adorable), earrings, and a necklace. I put the ring on - the only finger it fits perfectly on happens to be my left ring finger. Now I swore before I wouldn't wear anything on my left ring finger til it's an engagement ring, but 1) I'm doing a lot of things differently these days :); 2) the ring is really pretty and I want to wear it, and 3) Hey, it's the only finger it fits on. It's too big for my pinkies and too small for my other fingers. So...I'm thinking, "well, Rob should like this, it'll make me look 'taken'" - know what I mean?....
So I go into the deli, and I'm waiting for my friend. The guy behind the counter is sort of flirtatious but whatever. I'm just like, "oh no thank you" to everything he says. Finally Krista gets there and I go to order. The guy is asking me my name, how old I am, telling me how cute my voice is, telling me I look amazing, blah blah. He looks at my hand and moves my coat over to see the ring on my finger, and he's like, "you're engaged?!!!" I laughed and I told him no, and told him how I ended up with this ring on that finger.... he was entertained I think. I should have just said I was engaged. He proceeded to ask if I was in a relationship, so I of course said yes, and he was like, "man, he is so lucky" haha NICE.

I thought it was pretty hilarious that I put on the ring about 2 minutes before I left my apartment, and the first place I went a guy noticed it. Hm, guys are more attentive than we think I guess!!!
